Pantar Island |
The eastern part of Indonesia is home to so many
beautiful places which are still relatively unknown. I was lucky to be able to
stay in NTT for several days for enjoying the beauty of the nature there. I’d
been dreaming of visiting NTT for ages. And the best thing about it was that I
could explore Pantar
Islands and their
surroundings. Pantar Island is divided into five areas: pantar, East
Pantar, Central Pantar, West Pantar, and Northwest Pantar.
There is an amazing three-color sandy beach in Buntaru, and there is village
called Merica, which produces seaweed. Most of the inhabitants are fisherman
and seaweed farmer.
Don’t ask about the view around the islands, it’s totally
breathtaking! Wherever you go, you’ll only find…paradise!you can do scuba
diving, snorkeling or just cruising and di islands hopping; everything has its
own fun! The water is very clear so that you can enjoy the sight og the
colorful little fish swimming near your boat.
I even saw a little
turtle, and stringrays, and jumping dolphins along the way to Karang and Lapang
island…oh, what beautiful ocean life! But you need to pay attention to the
waves. If they are too high and the people there warn you not to sail, then
don’t! we had a nightmare on the ocean on the way from Batang to Pantar Island.
It was late and it was getting dark around 7.30 pm. Our boat was a small one
without any lamps. The waves were so high that we were all drenched by the sea
water. My heart beat fast. Without the moon to light our way, I began to feel
scared, but then I saw lights all beautifully scattered on the surfacd. My
friend said they were plankton. At this critical point, I remembered most
important thing in life: God! We made it back to Batang Island
safe and sound!
